"Beyond the search for pleasure, lies the search for meaning", A lot of us won't admit it but we are looking for meaning, we are looking for what makes our life matter, we our looking for our purpose... yet we go around chasing momentary pleasures, dopamine hits that don't last forever, we get stuck in this cycle and we feel... disappointed and empty. But you know what could keep you going, even in your toughest days? Meaning. It lives in our hearts, minds, and actions, consistenly.
Our hearts: what are you doing to take care of that little heart of yours?
I have found that my heart loves to be around people who accept its cheesy kindness, generosity, and childlike nature. That's where my heart feels most at home, around the people who hold me dearly, hug me tightly, and tell me everything that they love about me. My heart does not like harsh words, ridicule, and blame. I keep my distance from anybody who has these qualities, and if I have to be around them, I make sure I am silent and not confirming their bad behaviour, just to protect that little heart of mine.
Our Minds: the incredible scientist living inside our heads.
We tend to underestimate the power of the mind; our thoughts carry weight, they literally define our present and future. Did you know that you could programme your brain to do and be anything that you like? Trust me, this is science-based. The moment I decided to sit down and write my values and aspirations on paper, is the moment I have unlocked a great treasure. Everything that I think... comes to life, every. single. time. Because guess what? I act on it. Every single thing that I have imagined one day, is now mine. You know how I do that? by silencing every other sound that is not mine, because at this point, it is all noise, and noise-reduction is the best quality-restoration tool that I like using. Focus on your own voice, values, and aspiraitons. and let the magic unfold.
Actions: are you acting based on what your heart and mind wants? or are you reacting to what other people want?
When I was living in reaction mode, I was miserable. Doing everything everybody wants me to do and going everywhere I am invited. I completely lost myself trying to please others, and guess what? they were never happy with m. That's why I decided to ONLY do what makes ME happy, because what makes me happy should make the people who love me happy, and unfortunately, it will make the people who don’t like me unhappy, natural consequence.
Lesson: every single day... act on your desires, values, and aspirations. Be consistent. build that project you have been dreaming of, tick a task or two off your to-do list, and discover the places that you want to discover, and if nobody likes it, then do it alone.
Remember who you are and get clear on what truly matters to you, and choose small way to live with more meaning, every. single. day. I am proud of you already.
