Why are you so confident, Fatma? My answer is: why not?
The only thing stopping you from being confident is your comfort zone. It is you hiding under that huge blanket of yours, get out!
I have never met ONE person who has ZERO talents. Everybody is good at something, but the majority are stuck in comfort mode: comfort food, comfort shows, comfort habits, comfort thoughts, comfort feelings, comfort actions. Let me tell you something… comfort is not bad, but too much of ANYTHING will eat you alive. BALANCE, balance is key.
The fourth episode of the Fatma Tells podcast focused on self-esteem and self-confidence, and if you watched it, you would understand the connection between them, the higher your self-confidence is, the higher your self-esteem will be and vice versa.
The first thing you need to do to increase your confidence is to do something you have never done before, and chances are you will fail, but here’s the secret, keep doing it over and over again, until you succeed, and voila, the result is confidence. Keep repeating this and keep doing new things, keep putting yourself out there, in the world. Be okay with being seen, be okay with people thinking you are weird, or you are a failure, because guess what? When you succeed, they will get quiet, they will watch you, and some might even start to copy you. Here you know that you have unlocked confidence.
Trust me, the higher your confidence is, the higher your self-esteem will be, this is backed by science!
Your self-esteem is your sense of value. You are worthy. I am telling you, every single one of you is worthy, no matter what everybody else is telling you... Remember what my favorite tool was? Noise-reduction. What people think of you is just that… noise. Once you master the tool of noise-reduction, you will realize the truth, you will start to see everything clearly, you will see your worth.
You can hack your self-worth in three ways, either by changing your thoughts, actions, or feelings. Let me tell you another secret, you can hack anything in life in these three ways. How?
Thoughts: catch the negative thoughts and immediately redirect them to positive ones.
Actions: change your bad habits into healthy habits.
Feelings: you can intentionally put yourself in a good mood by increasing your oxytocin; the love hormone. A hug might work (you need to find what works for you)
Tip: if you hack one, it can impact the others!
This is the summary, I know, easier said than done, but there are so many different tools in psychology that can help you hack them. I will continue to share techniques and worksheets that might help you. Find them on YouTube and in the shop section of my website.
Take care of yourself, always.
