Who Said Motivation is Important?

I have to admit, as much as I like to get myself busy and keep moving to get things done, still, some days, I feel like a turtle. Honestly, some days I feel so heavy like I’m carrying a huge rock on top of my shoulders, or head, whatever. Part of me blames it on the lack of exercise, and don’t get me wrong, I sign up to the gym every year, but I’m only consistent half the year. Well, at least I did half, right? A pat on my back. I am not the best at being consistent with exercise but trust me I am consistent with so many other things.

The reason why I could be consistent with some things but not others is because of the lack of commitment to certain goals, not all goals have the same meaning to my heart. I am a spiritual person, and I do believe that movement is important to the soul, but I am not one to believe that lifting weights will help my soul. It really depends on priorities.

See I am consistent with my prayers and my personal development journey. I’ll do anything to increase my awareness and knowledge. I have so much knowledge about the most random topics, and it triggers people, but because I am self-aware, I know that people who are triggered think that I did not put in the work, but I put in work, every single day, and so should you.

Find the thing that matters the most to you and work towards it. It is okay to take a couple of days off every now and then, but it is not okay to completely forget about your dreams, your desires, and your goals in life. Do not let the people who had given up on their dreams convince you that you should too. And do not let people bully you for failing at something because that does not mean you cannot win at something else. Look at my case, just because I don’t have muscles, it does not mean I don’t have brains.

I know what you’re thinking, “I do not have the motivation to start anything anymore”, “I do not remember the last time I felt motivated”, “does motivation even exist”.

Let me break it to you, you do not need motivation to start anything. All you need to do is start and be consistent.

How to start? Set a plan, set a goal, set an objective, and start to work towards it. Even if it does not seem clear enough, just start, you can always polish it later. Trust me, you do not have to be perfect, you just need to remind yourself of your goals. Think of the person you want to become, think of the dream life that you want to build.

Again, easier said than done. I never said doing it will be easy. In fact, it will be hard, but you can do hard things…
